My creative side

Over the last several years, I've made art a hobby of mine. It's proven rather well. My family has complimented my talent many times over, and that's pretty good considering I couldn't draw a stick figure when I was young.

Anyhow, my art has been set aside for this section. Enjoy all the drawings that you see here. I put a lot of work into these. And while I don't get to update this section as much anymore as I would like to, just know that I've never completely put the pencil down. I always have drawings in progress, and I've even broken into forms of art other than the traditional penciled format.

Notes: All art will be in sections. As I put a drawing up, I will place a link to it. Also, all respective categories are copyrights of the respective companies, and no challenge is intended.

Coordinate Plane Artwork

Special thanks goes to Thomas Colli, a fellow math teacher at the middle school I work at, for providing the inspiration for this section. For several years now, he has done very creative pieces of art, logos, and cartoon characters by redrawing them on a standard Cartesian coordinate plane. Since my arrival, I have felt the urge to add drawings of my own to his collection, and below are my current submissions to date. (Pictures of the finished products will be posted here very shortly.)

To be able to do these drawings, you will need a sheet of graph paper and a working knowledge of the coordinate plane. If you are not familiar with how to plot coordinates, I have provided a written tutorial in the table below along with the pictures.

(NOTE: COORDINATES FOR ALL DRAWINGS ARE CORRECT AS OF 6/27/06. IF YOU SPOT ANY MISTAKES IN ANY OF THESE OR FUTURE DRAWINGS, CONTACT ME AND I WILL FIX THEM.)

Game Shows

My first attempt at computer artwork. One thing that a lot of game shows were known for were either a logo or a key piece of the set that was animated and well-recognized as part of the show. I have started to recreate some of these items, and below are my attempts so far.

Game Show Logos
Spinning Jokers from The Joker's Wild
Match Game
Press Your Luck
The $25,000 Pyramid

Sonic the Hedgehog

The Freedom Fighters... the great heroes and villains of Mobius... and a little something extra, perhaps. :-) I have a lot of images coming soon. And somewhere down the road, I may take some of the old drawings and redraw them. Time will tell.

Mega Man

My first collection, and my largest. These were some of the villains from the Mega Man games, based off images from Nintendo Power magazine. It's been a long time since I did any of these, but I wouldn't be afraid to try again.

NOTE: One drawing has been doctored, and that was for the logo for Crash Man. I did it only because it could not be read otherwise. I welcome all questions.

WMAC Masters

The show that got me hooked on martial arts. I drew replicas of the ki symbols that represented the athletes on the show. To date, I have a dozen.

Plenty more to come. For now, head back to the Main Page, or the Back button if you came from somewhere else.
