One of the things that inspired me to get into the martial arts was Ryu Hoshi of the Street Fighter video game series. He is a favorite of many and considered one of the best in the game through all its evolutions. His aspiration to be the best and hone his skills to new heights is a strong inspiration for me.

While Ryu's life is solely dedicated to his art, many feel that deep down, he does search for a woman's heart. In the opinion of many Street Fighter fans, the one he yearns for is Chun Li Xiang. However, I do not believe that to be true. I feel that there is one who is closer to Ryu, and is more capable of stealing the Shotokan's heart. That girl is another Shotokan who shares the same beliefs as Ryu, and seeks him to be her master... Sakura Kasugano.

And so it is with great pleasure that Andrea and I have chosen to honor and symbolize the real Golden Couple of Street Fighter by immortalizing them in costume. These costumes were finely designed by a pair of marvelous people in Florida named Chloe & Heidi Braga, and I thank them for making these.
