Sonic the Hedgehog Editorials

For a long time since I became a Sonic fan, I've read the reviews and critiques of the Sonic comics by the great Dan Drazen. Soon after I began this page, I felt the need to do some critiques of my own. However, I want to talk about the world of Sonic in general (although the comics will be emphasized). This section will be devoted to my rants.

These editorials can also be found on Sonic HQ, where you can read the editorials below and those from other members of the HQ team.

SONIC #57 - Dated 1/29/98. Why I'm ticked off at SEGA for their influence over the comics.

THAT TIME OF YEAR - Dated 2/10/98. A wave of unexplainable feelings has washed over me, dating back to last year.

YOU'RE AN ANIMAL - Dated 3/4/98. Is anybody confused about what kind of animal each of the Freedom Fighters are? Look here to see said confusion.

TALES OF THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS - Dated 3/8/98. Even after Sonic & Tails go, we see the Freedom Fighters live their lives. But do we really?

THE HANDS THAT DRAW THE CRADLE - Dated 4/10/98. Where does Ken Penders' recent announcement leave the Sonic art team? Here's what I think of the crew from this standpoint.

KEN'S "ULTIMATUM" - Dated 4/25/98. Ken Penders has presented Princess Sally facing the biggest decision of her life. This decision may not stand with the fans, though.

THE "TRUMAN" REVELATION - Dated 6/13/98. Are the solo adventures of Sonic & Tails really as bad as we make it seem? Compare it to a new movie in our popular culture.

REUNIONS & CONFLICTS - Dated 11/29/98. Sonic's heading back home to Mobotropolis, but there are some people that may not be so happy to see each other soon. SPECIAL EDITORIAL - A tag-team collaberation with Sonic partner Lien-Na.

LOSING YOU... THINGS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME - Dated 3/24/99. My memorial to my deceased grandfather. I discuss his death, the Freedom Fighter breakup, and the emotional loss that I've suffered from it all.

ROYALTY BLUES - Dated 8/26/99. There's quite a bit of confusion from the decision of who Sally should have a relationship with. How so? Consider this.

RUN-ON QUESTIONS - Dated 10/10/99. The confusion continues over whom Sally's gonna choose. Why? Because no one gave a clear answer to the questions the first time they were asked.

HOW THE GREATEST LOVE STORY "SHOULD" BE TOLD - Dated 11/14/99. My final opinions on Sonic & Sally's relationship, presented in a way that I feel even SEGA can accept.

DIGGING THE KNIFE A LITTLE DEEPER - Dated 4/12/00. Just when you think SEGA and Archie can't make me and the fans any more upset, they just keep finding more ways. Perhaps the time has come to get them to realize the mistakes they're making.

NEVER-ENDING TUG-OF-WAR - Dated 10/14/00. Life has been springing and fading in all corners of the Sonicverse, and it's hard to tell who's winning.

CHANGING FACES - Dated 1/31/01. Now Sonic finds himself against the wall, influencing a major change in the fandom, and leading me to "that time of year" once again.

ROLLERCOASTER - Dated 2/9/03. Think being a Sonic fan has been a dull ride with nothing to crow about? In celebration of 6 years of fandom, I look back on the fandom's most talked about moments.

TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE... OR FALSE - Dated 4/27/03. Mina's been making some moves on Sonic. This leads to a lot of honesty in the midst of a very plausible love triangle, one that really puts the ultimate ending up the air. Or does it?

YOU'RE NEVER TOO FAR FROM HOME - Dated 8/31/03. After the events in Sonic 125, esteemed fanfiction authors Robert Brown and Francis Tolbert have joined me in trying to make some sense of Sonic's future. Wild predictions? Who knows...

FEARS OF WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS - Dated 12/13/03. With Sonic back on Mobian terra firma, it's time to see just how things have changed since the fateful battle with the Xorda, and just how accurate our predictions were.

WAR IS HELL - Dated 3/30/04. The battles are over for now, but back in Knothole, they might as well be just beginning.
